Sand Building Contest Information and Rules
Plots will be available on a first come basis to the registration table. Pre-registration will secure you a spot, but location is based on a first come first service basis the morning of the event.
Start time is approx. 9am and will be announced by the coordinators of this event. No shoveling or digging in advance or you will be disqualified.
The plot sizes are planned to be 20ft sq. Only sand in you assigned plot may be used.
You must provide your own tools, supplies, buckets, forms, food, beverages, shade and sunscreen for your team.
An unlimited number of buckets may be used. Buckets may be filled prior to the start, but must be set outside the plot. The plot may not be wet down prior to the start.
Please keep you area safe for everyone and clear your area upon finishing. Keep personal items out of public aisles.
There is no limit to the number of participants per team. Participants may not be on multiple teams.
Piles of sand must be formed by manpower only. Mechanized assistance is not allowed.
To be judged, creations must be built within boundaries.
The sand sculptures must contain only objects natural to the beach (shells, stones, seaweed, etc.).
Sculptures may not be dampened or sprayed with any solutions other than water. In other words: NO STICKY STUFF!
Sculptures must be finished by 2:30pm when judging begins. Winners will be announced at approximately 3:00pm
